CONNECTING THE DOTS
ACT NOW is an international programme run by The Innovation in Politics Institute, which supports local politicians in tackling the current challenges they face, such as migration flows, the climate crisis, and increasing social division resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The programme serves as the Institute’s competence centre for social cohesion, citizen engagement and youth empowerment, and focuses on the local level.
Within the scope of the ACT NOW programme we have established an international network of mayors, experts from civil society, and young people from Europe, the Middle East, Turkey and Northern Africa, who share their knowledge and experience in an effort to improve wellbeing for all.
What We Do
The ACT NOW Mayors’ Network has started a new process to bring like-minded local leaders together so that words are turned into tangible action by finding innovative local solutions to global problems and supporting their implementation at the local level.
The 7th NOW Conference showcased current research findings and best practices. The conference article summarises the key learnings and shows possible means of fostering cohesive societies at the local level.
The global pandemic of COVID-19 has not only made a lot of shortcomings around the globe visible, it has also shown a lot of engagement, selflessness and empathy from the people impacted by it.
