FabriQ – The Social Enterprise Incubator

Startups are supported by networking, experts, and workshops, and encouraged through funding to have a positive social and economic impact on Milan.

THE FIRST SOCIAL INNOVATION INCUBATOR IN MILAN

FabriQ is the first social innovation incubator of the City of Milan, located in the peripheral suburb of Quarto Oggiaro. It offers economic incentives and assistance services to companies wishing to start business projects with a high social impact; encourages the birth and development of projects that propose new solutions to current social issues; as well as providing support for existing solutions.

support from experts and mentors

The incubation programme is structured in three phases: consolidation, development, ramp-up. In addition to the typical incubation activities with mentors, startups are involved in integrative activities such as: Soul Salad – a monthly lunch break during which the most interesting startups and social innovators present themselves and share their experiences; Expert Corner – one-on-one consultancy sessions with specialists on in-depth topics; and, Thematic Workshops – evening meetings in which experts from the Impact Hub network or external experts explore issues of interest for startups. Topics range from legal aspects to crowdfunding, and from strategic design to various forms of financing.

STARTUPS FOR THE SOCIAL FABRIC OF THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

The objective of the service is to transform startups into new economic actors that can have real effects on the social fabric of the neighbourhood and the entire city. Since 2013, FabriQ has carried forward more than 60 startup and young companies, combining profitability and entrepreneurship with social and environmental sustainability. In particular, the Municipality has contributed more than EUR 373,000 in grants for 21 projects/startups.
