WHO CAN JOIN THE ACT NOW MAYORS’ NETWORK
As the network is a community of values, it is a necessary condition to support and believe in the network’s five principles and the willingness to take action to strengthen inclusive social cohesion.
Mayors should personally apply to join the network and they are encouraged to discuss this with their council for firm commitment.
It is important for Mayors to participate in the network activities, but being aware of the extensive responsibilities and various administrative structures and size of different municipalities/cities/districts/counties, the deputy mayor or a senior municipal (council or administrative) member can be the person representing these entities in the network and participating in its activities.
The ACT NOW Mayors Network uses English language for communication among its members, therefore, it is highly recommended that Mayors can manage in the absence of interpretation services and need to make sure that their delegates for certain tasks have sufficient language proficiency.
Member municipalities are expected to devote one person who will be working with a specific group within the network to spearhead innovative local action in the municipality.
