The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. In April 2020, the school launched a new Certificate program: Governance of Global Crises. Josef Lentsch, Managing Partner of the Innovation in Politics Institute Germany, will play a core role in the new course.
Bringing together academics and practitioners from different areas in one (virtual) room, the new online course aims to equip civil servants, lawmakers’ advisers, public sector consultants, data analysts, human rights activists, or managers in an international organisation with the skills to effectively manage crisis responses at the local, national and global level. Participants can design their own course plan and reconcile this investment in their professional careers with other requirements that come with working and learning from home.
In this module, Josef Lentsch will focus on how to foster cross-sector political innovation in the context of an outbreak. Taking into account lessons learned from the coronavirus crisis, he follows a case-based methodology and provides insights into best practices from Europe and beyond.
