Birgit Führer

As Head of Office Management and People & Culture with more than twenty years of experience in the private sector, I work closely with our Office Manager and COO to ensure the smooth running of all office management, finance and human resources. I completed my Master of Business Management at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt/Vienna/Graz and I am continuously educating myself. I love working with and for people.

What do you like best about your job? Why is that?

It’s very inspiring to work with people who want to make a difference and who want to make the world a better place. The positive energy that surrounds me is very inspiring.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

For me, it is perfect to spend quality time together with friends and/or family in the garden and to celebrate festivities. Also, I love waking up in a new and unknown place, enjoying a good breakfast and then experiencing and discovering new and interesting things and cultures.

What are you learning right now and why is it important?

I am continuously involved in educating myself, because for me standing still is synonymous with taking a step backwards. Innovation and change keep me healthy and happy.

What is your favourite movie?

“Intouchables” is a French tragicomedy based on a true incident. It tells the story of the former managing director of the champagne producer Pommery. It is entertaining, touching and funny.

The best advice you have ever received?

Tryto accept things I can’t change with serenity, have the courage to change things I can, and have the wisdom to distinguish one from the other.

What is something – big or small – by which you are really good?

The ability to create order and stick to rules; routines and procedures makes my life more efficient and stress-free. This approach has been of great benefit to me in many different areas of life, whether it’s work or personal.
