EurHope empowers over 1.5 million young Europeans to shape EU policy through a multilingual, participatory campaign that bridges the gap between youth priorities and political leaders.
TACKLING YOUTH DISENGAGEMENT
EurHope responded to the growing disconnection between young Europeans and EU politics by launching the first EU-wide, multilingual consultation focused on youth. Over 1.5 million votes and 5,000 proposals were collected to form the Agenda of Hope—a set of 15 priorities representing young people's vision for the future of Europe. At a time when youth are often excluded from meaningful participation, the project positioned their voices at the heart of the European democratic process.
MOBILISING VOICES ONLINE AND ON THE GROUND
The project’s strength lay in its dual strategy: combining large-scale online engagement with offline workshops. Backed by JEF Europe’s volunteer network, thousands of young people took part in refining the priorities and spreading awareness. EurHope built a powerful coalition of 29 civil society organisations, 12 institutions, 6 media outlets, 3 academic and 2 research partners, 6 companies, and 9 foundations. This broad alliance ensured both reach and legitimacy, enabling youth to interact directly with political actors and EU institutions.
BUILDING A PLATFORM FOR LASTING ENGAGEMENT
EurHope created a groundbreaking online platform—accessible in 22 languages—where users could explore the Agenda of Hope alongside official responses from European political parties and civil society. This not only increased transparency but strengthened trust between young citizens and institutions. By offering tools for understanding and influencing EU policymaking, the initiative fostered long-term civic engagement. EurHope has set a new standard for multilingual, collaborative democratic participation and created a replicable model for inclusive, youth-driven political action across Europe.
