Unlocking Potential – Empowering Roma Youth and Women through Skills and Entrepreneurship

This project empowers Roma youth and women through skills training, entrepreneurship support, and tailored tools to boost employment and foster social inclusion.

ADDRESSING SYSTEMIC BARRIERS

Roma communities continue to face disproportionately high unemployment, limited access to education, and social exclusion. This project targeted 27 participants—mainly Roma women and youth—offering a structured two-week programme to address these issues. The first week focused on employability skills, including CV writing and crafting motivation letters, while the second centered on entrepreneurship and business plan development.

TOOLS FOR SELF-RELIANCE

The most promising business plans received direct support through customised equipment packages. Participants were given essential tools to launch their ventures—such as sewing machines, laptops, photography kits, carpentry tools, and more—enabling them to apply their new skills in real-world settings and begin their journey toward economic independence.

FOSTERING INCLUSION AND GROWTH

Beyond job readiness, the project aimed to build confidence, personal resilience, and a stronger sense of agency among participants. By encouraging entrepreneurship and practical skill development, it created pathways to employment while promoting long-term integration, self-sufficiency, and dignity within the Roma community.
