IMC University of Applied Sciences in Krems, Austria provides not only its students with livestreams and exchange platforms, but also necessary training to its teaching staff, to transform itself into an online-university within days.
Although closing public institutions lowers the risk of spreading an infectious disease, it also often prevents access to their services. Due to the Covid-19 situation, many universities had to close their campuses, lecture halls and seminar rooms. Thus, students could not participate in mandatory classes. Within one day of the campus closure announcement, the International Management Center (IMC) Krems had adapted to the new situation and provided teaching staff with a livestream option with the click of a button, virtual courses for distance learning, as well as an informal “Ask a colleague” platform to exchange information. All this helped IMC Krems to immediately continue its educational services.
