To support artists who experience cancellations of their performances, a fund was made available for those in immediate need of support.
Besides focusing on the primary effects in crises, one also has to tackle the secondary effects. As during the Covid-19 situation public gatherings, events and come-togethers pose a major threat for spreading the virus, the cultural sector is severely affected. Especially artists who depend on income from public performances need immediate help.
AKM has created a fund which is endowed with 1,000,000 Euros to quickly provide unbureaucratic and immediate funding to music professionals in Austria. This fund helps musicians to overcome a severe financial crisis. This initiative was started by AKM Austria (Vienna).
