To tackle current challenges the Estonian government decided to ask young programmers for their support and organized a hackathon.
When tackling new challenges in a crisis, innovative ideas are quickly needed. Especially dealing with Covid-19 requires changes in regulation, in the organisation of life, in different industries and in entrepreneurship.
“Accelerate Estonia” held one of the first hackathons on the Corona crisis and encouraged young programmers to find possible ways to tackle current challenges in Estonia. To create an additional incentive, the best 5 ideas were awarded with 5.000 Euro each. This initiative was started by Kaimar Karu, Estonian Minister of Economics.
