During a crisis, the burden to find solutions is often put on research institutions or government bodies. But solutions to tackle the effects of the crisis are often already provided by startups and SMEs. Government calls can not only help to find innovative solutions but also stipulate the economy.
As the next round of funding from the European Innovation Council is about to start, the European Commission specifically calls for innovative solutions to help in treating, testing, monitoring or other aspects of the Coronavirus outbreak. The call’s budget ist 164 million euros.
