In times of crisis, governments take hard measures to overcome arising difficulties and challenges. Still, parliaments and congresses need to ensure that legislative processes are being followed and that parliamentarians can do their work also from distance. New technologies can very much help with this challenge.
The Brazilian House of Representatives and the Senate voted to use the Remote Deliberation System (SDR) to ensure a working congress also during the crisis. This new system will allow congresswomen and -men to discuss and vote remotely. Each virtual session will focus on one issue only and last six hours max.
