Combating the effects of the coronavirus pandemic requires rapid and innovative solutions. It is in this context that the Innovation Fund by the Republic of Serbia was adapted to supporting projects that promise to produce the most relevant, rapid, and strategically meaningful response to the Covid-19 crisis. The invitation to apply was aimed specifically at small and medium-sized companies that have products, services, and prototypes which could be implemented quickly.
Within only 7 days, 300 applications were received, out of which 12 innovations were awarded a total sum of RSD 53 million. The Innovation Fund was established by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and co-funded by the European Union. Its adaptation to the Covid-19 crisis was initiated by the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia.
