During a crisis such as the coronavirus outbreak, the survival of many is at stake, not only regarding their health, but their financial situation, as well. Many organisations have to lay off their employees.
In Sweden, 10.000 SAS staff members are not at risk of losing their jobs. Thus, Sophiahemmet University and Novare, a Swedish HR firm, have set up an intensive training course for cabin crew members of Scandinavian Arlines. With funding from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation, the training course for 30 flight attendants and other SAS staff started on the 30th of March, and another 300 staff members will start their training on April 6.The idea is that the SAS staff could ease the burden on doctors and nurses by carrying out a number of basic health support services.
