In times of physical distancing, people must increasingly rely on digital ways of communicating, shopping, or banking. This poses a great challenge to the elderly and other groups who lack digital skills.
The Basque government has started a programme to support these groups and families who need to improve their digital skills to be able to help their children with remote learning. They also provide support to nursing homes for video conferences between family members and residents.
KZgunea, the network of telecenters, created by the Basque government to promote digital citizenship, will help, through a tele assistance service, to solve the technological problems of the Basque citizens via phone and/or by e-mail.
