In a rapidly developing crisis situation getting everyone informed is essential. In many countries, helplines and even hotlines for emergencies are overburdened by the many callers seeking information.
In Estonia, a state-approved chatbot answers questions on the government’s and several ministries’ websites. It is maintained and fed with official information by a tech-savvy team of volunteers. The project seeks to prevent the spread of misinformation and the overburdening of emergency phone lines.
