Josef Lentsch, co-founder of NEOS and most recently director of NEOS Lab, is now establishing the German branch of Innovation in Politics Institute as managing partner.
Lentsch has more than 20 years of experience in political innovation. In 2012 he was one of the co-founders of NEOS, and from 2014 he was founding director of NEOS Lab. Previously, Lentsch was Director International at the Royal Society of Arts in London and co-founder and Managing Partner of UNIPORT, Austria’s largest career service for students and graduates. Springer published his book “Political Entrepreneurship” in 2018. Lentsch studied psychology at the University of Vienna and public administration at Harvard University.
Founded in Vienna in 2016, Innovation in Politics Institute is a Europe-wide service organization for the further development of political work. The Institute identifies the most successful political projects in Europe and processes this know-how across countries and political parties – from location policy to digitization and mobility.
Furthermore, the Institute has launched the Europe-wide “Innovation in Politics Awards”, which are presented annually to politicians for exemplary political projects.
“Our services are now in demand by politicians in numerous countries. The establishment of our branch in Germany is therefore a logical step. In Josef Lentsch, we have found the ideal partner because he loves politics and is also an entrepreneur,” says Edward Strasser, co-founder of the institute.
“I am delighted to be continuing my path as a political entrepreneur by founding the Innovation in Politics Institute in Germany. The innovation of politics and democracy is my passion; together we want to make a contribution here in Germany and throughout Europe,” said Josef Lentsch.
