More people have become dependent on food donations as a result of the coronavirus crisis. At the same time, many people who usually volunteer in soup kitchens and other food donation projects are part of the population most at risk.
In the German town of Marxloh, a group of women from Muslim cultural societies is cooking for homeless people. During Ramadan, they usually cook for breaking the fast in large family gatherings, but this is not possible with social distancing measures in place. Now they are putting their abilities to use for the neighbourhood whilst setting a sign for inter-faith solidarity, as most of the people they are serving are not Muslims.
