    50 kilometers of additional cycle lanes in Paris

    As social distancing measures reduce the space available in public transport, many citizens switch to using their bikes. In many municipalities, this increases the need for bike lanes.

    To ease the pressure of overcrowded buses and metro cars, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo invites all residents who can ride a bicycle to do so. To provide the increasing number of cyclists with enough space on Paris’s streets, Ms. Hidalgo decided to open 50 km of new cycle lanes.

    Helping tourists to maintain physical distancing

    The Swedish island of Gotland hired a group of armored knights to patrol well-visited places in the region to ensure that tourists adhere to physical distancing measures.
