During a crisis, it is often difficult to keep track of services provided by the city government as well as community activities offering mutual aid.
The municipality of Milan created an online catalog of collaborative services and innovative projects promoted by startups, associations, companies and institutions. The catalog is accessible to all and is constantly updated. It contains 200 initiatives divided into 8 categories: • Services to people: solutions for those in need; • From the neighborhoods: projects and initiatives; • Health and well-being: physical, spiritual, psychological; • Solidarity: collections, donations, aid; • Didactics: resources to learn and teach online; • Daily life: services for the everyday life; • Work and business: services for production activities; • Art and culture: music, cinema, museums and much more
The software used for the catalogue is open source and can be used by other administrations too. The Economic innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Department responsible for this project operates within the Urban Economy and Employment Directorate of the Municipality of Milan.
