It is imperative to understand how new diseases progress, and what symptoms correspond to the infection. This is why during the coronavirus crisis researchers collect data that may help them to reveal important information about the symptoms and progress of the COVID-19 infection, and why some patients go on to develop more severe or fatal disease, while others have only mild symptoms.
To collect as much data as possible, King’s College London published an app to help slow the outbreak, by helping researchers identify how fast the virus is spreading, which are high-risk areas. and who is most at risk.
