    Automatically opening and closing doors in public transport

    Reducing the risk of infection is a central aspect of crisis management during pandemics. In the case of the novel coronavirus, there has been a lot of discussion regarding the risks of getting infected whilst using public transport.

    Wiener Linien, Vienna’s public transport operator, decided to have its doors open and close automatically during the coronavirus crisis. This reduces the risk for metro and tram passengers to be infected through the use of door openers when entering subway cars, buses, and trams.
