Drive-in cinemas

The lack of cultural events during the corona crisis calls for new ways of enjoying oneself without violating safety measures.

This has inspired the comeback of the good old drive-in cinemas. Depending on the audience’s age, they are both a novel and a retro experience as well as a safe alternative to the conventional cinema in times of physical distancing. As the ticket sale is handled online, a visit to a drive-in cinema in Vienna is completely contactless.

Through a special radiofrequency, the audience can hear the sound of the shown film via their own speakers.
