    Expanding bike lanes to prevent coronavirus spread

    During the coronavirus crisis, many governments imposed physical distancing rules to limit the spread of the virus. To meet these social distancing regulations, governments need not only to re-think public spaces but also public transport and traffic management.

    To reduce overcrowding on public transport, the Colombian capital of Bogotá temporarily opened its bike lanes. According to city officials, expanding bike lanes can be a preventive measure to avoid close contact and crowds.
