Supporting local shops that offer home delivery

As many governments start to support local businesses to stimulate their economies, it is often hard for citizens to have an overview who offers what services.

Thus, a project is carried out by local governments of the nine Municipalities forming Milan, and with Confcommercio Milano (the Milanese Confederation for Commerce), with the support of street associations, including Social Streets. The Department of Commerce of Milan is responsible for this project and cooperates with the Urban Economy and Employment Directorate of the Municipality of Milan.

A geo-referenced online map and app shows the small neighbourhood shops and businesses that sell essential goods and offer home delivery. The page is constantly updated and displays over 850 local stores.

This project allows citizens to buy basic necessities without leaving their home, which supports local trade, avoids gatherings and queues at big supermarkets and gives citizens the opportunity to receive the products safely.
