The homeless are one of the most vulnerable groups of society during the coronavirus pandemic. They seldomly have access health services, they have no place to go, and relevant institutions such as food kitchens needed to close their doors.
To help the homeless during this hard time, the residents of Naples put baskets outside their windows. Everyone can contribute and put food and necessities into the baskets for those in need to take free of charge. This is an age-old practice in Naples: women used to hang baskets with money out of their windows and the local baker or butcher replaced it with their products.
