Even in “normal” times women are often still the ones carrying the bigger load regarding childcare and household tasks. This load gets even bigger when schools are closed and many people work from home. There are also reports of increased cases of domestic violence in this situation.
The Italian NGO we world has set up a new helpline to support women in difficult situations. They can call if they are in need of support or simply need someone to listen. This is separate from the country’s official hotline to report cases of domestic violence.
