Organising an online City Council meeting

In times of crisis it is vital for democratic countries to prove to its citizens that democracy is still working. Still it is also important to be role models in times of the coronavirus crisis and comply with governments’ social distancing measures.

In the last week of March, 53 Ghent councillors participated in their council meeting online on their home computers. Since all participants needed to have the right equipment, technicians took on the challenge and made sure that all 53 devices could take part in the teleconference. It also needed to be ensured that the meeting was conducted in compliance with the GDPR requirements.

Government platform to recruit retired or unemployed health professionals

The French Ministry of Solidarity and Health launched a platform to recruit volunteers and health professionals who are unemployed or retired.
