Platform to encourage buying local

As a consequence of the shutdowns in response to Covid-19, many small businesses loose their revenue. As they still have ongoing costs, many of them are at risk of bankruptcy.

The online platform kauftregional (“buy locally”) lists local businesses in Austria which offer home delivery. Potential customers can search for the kind of products they need and use different search filters for regional or fair-trade products. This way the platform seeks to support small local businesses and prevent that only global online retailers benefit from the coronavirus crisis.

The initiative also exists in Germany. More information can be found if you click on this link.
