In lockdown situations, many people are unable to visit their family, and yet others are grieving the loss of a loved one or suffering the loss of their livelihoods. Feverishly reading headlines and feeling powerless won’t do much except raise our stress levels and burn us out. The outbreak of the new coronavirus is dramatically disrupting the lives of millions of people around the world, from young people unable to attend school and workers unable to get to work, through entire families placed in isolation or quarantine, to the widespread fear that that a pandemic may cause in our society. The coronavirus not only poses a threat to people’s physical health, but it also shatters their mental wellbeing and emotional resilience.
