School television on local TV channel

While hard-working pupils are already running out of worksheets after the first week of “Corona Holidays”, pedagogically valuable lessons are not easy to access for parents during the home office.

Therefore, the city of Vienna launches the “Learning Planet by and with Werner Gruber”, a well-known comedian and physicist. This cooperation between the city TV station W24, the Vienna Education Server, the Vienna Education Directorate, and passionate educators, aims to teach major subjects and natural sciences understandably for the young and adult audience.

The target group of the programme is the secondary level, i.e. pupils in middle school and secondary school. In order to map the contents of the curriculum for each school level as precisely as possible, each school level is dealt with separately every 15 minutes. All teaching units are available online via W24 in the stream for curious pupils who want to follow the content at their own pace. Homework and tests will also be available online.
