Tech emergency aid for administration and social sector

Covid-19 has become a serious crisis, placing enormous burdens on the analogue and digital systems from health to logistics to administration. Countries around the world face challenges such as overloaded support hotlines, planning uncertainty, complete overhauls of logistics systems, conversion to home office, and many more. Many of these problems can be mitigated by technology for the benefit of citizens, businesses, and government employees.

Digital Response Germany is an initiative that collects volunteer tech talent and urgent needs for action with a lack of resources and, after an initial assessment, brings them together. They place private volunteers who use their free time or time-released by their employer to help. This work is done on a voluntary and unpaid basis.

To provide hospitals with missing equipment, an initiative crowdsources necessary materials such as masks and visors.

Free grocery delivery for medical workers

During the crisis, the supermarket chain Monoprix supports medical workers by offering free grocery delivery.
