The coronavirus pandemic poses great challenges to police, fire, and paramedic units. Many of these challenges have yet to be solved.
To meet the needs of these essential workers on the frontlines of the pandemic, Challenge America: Makers For Veterans (CAMVETS) set up a programme called “COVID-19 Maker Challenge: First Responders” for police, fire, and paramedic units. Representatives of these groups were asked to hand in challenges for CAMVETS maker teams to solve. This programme was the first in a series of five events that enlist the talents of engineers, designers and other professionals to create innovative solutions to the challenges confronting essential workers in their efforts to fight Covid-19.
