Women in prison are at the fringes of society. After the end of their sentence, they face prejudices and difficulties with integrating into society and the labour market. These difficulties can be exacerbated in times of crisis.
The project made in carcere teaches women in prisons to sew. Currently, they produce face masks from recycled materials. Thereby, they contribute to tackling the spread of the coronavirus, help to reduce waste, and enhance their own chances in the regular labour market.
