Football matches attended by cardboard figures with fans’ pictures

Usually, football matches are mass events drawing thousands of fans to the stadiums. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, they now take place without any spectators present.

The fan club of the German Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach is allowing fans to be present in the stadium as cardboard figures with their picture. The project supports local businesses producing the cardboard figures and the rest of the revenue is donated to local charity projects.
