Project DENN – Trustworthy News, Powered by Citizens

Project DENN combats misinformation and strengthens journalism by enabling citizens to create and share verifiable content through a blockchain-based mobile platform.

CITIZEN-GENERATED CONTENT

Project DENN tackles the growing threat of misinformation by building a mobile app that empowers users to capture photos and videos embedded with metadata such as location and timestamps. This content is then securely stored on a blockchain-backed platform to ensure its authenticity and resistance to tampering. By doing so, DENN offers citizens and journalists fast, broad, and trustworthy material that reduces the need for time-consuming verification and is less prone to manipulation.

USING TECHNOLOGY TO BUILD TRUST

The platform integrates blockchain and C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) standards to ensure the traceability and integrity of all user-generated content. Through this technical framework, DENN establishes a transparent system where citizens can contribute credible information to the public domain. This strengthens democratic dialogue by allowing individuals to hold institutions accountable and meaningfully engage in shaping public narratives.

SUPPORTING JOURNALISM AND DIGITAL LITERACY

Beyond providing reliable content for journalists, DENN fosters digital literacy by helping citizens critically assess the information they consume. The project promotes a culture of verification and informed participation, reducing the spread of falsehoods and enhancing public trust in media. By supporting both media professionals and the general public, DENN builds a resilient news ecosystem that is better equipped to respond to today’s information challenges.
