Creating a transparent system of financing and providing assistance

The platform ♯KtoPomozeSlovensku was created to help Slovak medical professionals to cope with the coronavirus pandemic through a transparent system of financing and providing assistance for frontline healthcare workers and retirement homes.

Thanks to the initiative, the largest database of requests for medical facilities and retirement homes was created. Anyone can participate by making a financial contribution or by providing aid and services. Hundreds of companies and individuals came together and helped medical facilities, emergency services, and retirement homes in 320 cities to overcome the first weeks of the epidemic.

Within one month of its founding, the initiative managed to provide protective equipment and devices worth 1.3 million EUR. As the demand for medical supplies is still high, ♯KtoPomozeSlovensku is launching a second wave of fundraising.

In the Banská Bystrica region, the initiative has financially contributed to a mobile Covid-19 testing unit. The converted caravan will enable the testing of people in more remote villages and marginalized communities.
