    Hostel as accommodation for health workers

    During an outbreak of an infectious disease, health workers are the most essential and the most exposed professions at the same time. In the current outbreak of COVID-19, many of them worry about transmitting the virus to family members who are at risk due to old age or pre-existing conditions. In the Portuguese municipality Braga, rooms in a youth hostel are made available for free to health workers. They can use them to rest, or stay there if they do not want to go home as they fear to put family members at risk of contamination.
