Keep in “Touch” App for doctors to keep everybody safe

Taking care of your health and watching your vital parameters is one of the most important tasks during this current crisis. Especially for vulnerable social groups with pre-existing conditions or other risk factors, this can make all the difference. So, how do you stay “in touch” with your physician without actually meeting in person (to continue social distancing)? The Austrian Institute of Technology has created the “MobileMonitor” telemonitoring app, using near field communication (NFC) technology in order to record data that can be accessed by medical professionals to give you the medical advice and care you need. Patients can regularly update their profiles with useful information concerning their health status (temperature, overall state of health,…). Once uploaded, a doctor will be alerted about the update and can respond to it accordingly.

It goes without saying that all recorded data are encrypted in the system, and the information is available for download as soon as it has been put into the system.
