    Monitoring the needs of regional communities and developing innovative solutions for them

    During the coronavirus crisis, many new social and economic needs, as well as unprecedented challenges, emerged. Unfortunately, some governments were unable to act accordingly; they weren’t able to meet the needs of citizens and limit the damage. Thus, other actors needed to step in.

    One of them was Al Hayat Center in Jordan which launched the Neighborhood Watch Coalition. Because it is a coalition of civil society organizations in all regions and neighbourhoods of Jordan, they are well-equipped to monitor the needs of society and find solutions by implementing community initiatives.

    Providing hospitals and frontline medical staff with necessary equipment

    To provide hospitals with missing equipment, an initiative crowdsources necessary materials such as masks and visors.

    Freshly cooked meals for hospital workers

    To show solidarity to medical staff during the crisis, a group of volunteers mobilized to bring prepared meals to hospital workers.
