Neighbourhood Challenge

People put up notes in hallways to offer their help to those at higher risk from Covid-19.

When people are required to self-isolate to protect their health, they are dependent on the support of others. As the elderly and people with certain pre-existing conditions are particularly vulnerable to Covid-19, they are currently advised not to leave their homes. Under the Hashtag #Nachbarschaftschallenge (Neighbourhood Challenge) people are creating pictures of their offers to help which they are putting up in their hallways. In simple notes addressed to people at risk, they offer assistance in grocery shopping, getting medicine or using digital tools.

This initiative was started by Fredi Ferkova from Vienna, and has spread worldwide. Follow the Neighbourhood Challenge on Twitter.
