Online one-stop-shop for community messages and Information

In times of digital communication it can be challenging to ensure that all relevant information reaches as many people as possible within a community.

That is why a community team in Althboy – consisting of local volunteers from different backgrounds, such as the local doctor, pharmacist, civil servant, volunteer coordinator, undertaker, etc. – set up a Facebook page to offer practical community based advice for people. Its a one stop shop for community messages as well as formal information by the Health Service Executive and other formal source information. They integrate competitions and online performances to keep people interested. The diversity of the group helps to make sure that all information is correct and ensures that the community is fully connected and informed. The group strives to enable the Althboy community to be better placed to respond rather than react despite rapidly changing circumstances.
