Using robots to disinfect hospitals

To reduce the risk of infection, autonomous robots can do necessary work in hospitals. Especially in times of the coronavirus, this lowers the risk of transmission of the virus to patients.

Self-driving UVD robots are used to disinfect contaminated hospital rooms with concentrated UV light. The robots use concentrated ultraviolet light to destroy bacteria, viruses, and harmful microbes. As the light is harmful to humans too, people are required to wait outside during the 20 minutes it takes to treat a room.
